Where each number comes from
If you start from a monthly salary, it has to be turned into an hourly rate. The method used in Chile takes the weekly hours to a month by multiplying by 30/7: with a 45-hour week that gives 192.86 hours a month; with the 42 hours in force since April 2026 it gives exactly 180. Your hourly rate is the salary divided by that figure.
That number is editable on purpose. Your contract or your approved shift system may use a different factor, and if so yours wins, not mine. The tool always shows you which method it applied.
Overtime
It's paid at the regular hourly rate multiplied by the premium. The general minimum in Chile works out to 1.5×, a 50% premium, but your agreement may improve on it.
When premiums overlap
A night shift on a Sunday can carry two premiums at once. Some agreements add them together and others apply only the highest. Since there's no single rule, you choose, and the tool tells you which one it used in the breakdown.
What this calculator doesn't do
It doesn't work out income tax, pension or health contributions, and it doesn't give you a net figure. That depends on your circumstances, your bracket and rules that change; doing it blind would produce a number that looks official and isn't. The only deductions you see are the ones you type in.
This is an estimate, not a payslip. It's for cross-checking and for getting a sense of things before you raise a query — not for replacing your employer's document.
